Plasser American Corporation Expansion

Chesapeake | As part of its 60th anniversary year, Plasser American Corporation dedicated a 45,000 square foot office building on December 2, 2021—the first structure in a comprehensive $52.6-million expansion of its North American headquarters in Chesapeake’s South Norfolk community. The expansion conveys their continued commitment to the Chesapeake region and products made in America.

The company designs, manufactures and operates “maintenance of way” equipment to ensure the safety of passenger and commercial railroad tracks across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The balance of the project will include an 82,000 square foot manufacturing facility to double production capacity, which will also add 98 more jobs, bringing employment to well over 300.

All construction work for the new office building, expansion of the assembly area and warehouse and enhancement of the Plasser American Corporation campus will be done by local contractors.
