Artist Angela Haseltine Pozzi, a global changer, creates art from thrown-out plastics and trash littering our beaches and oceans. Washed Ashore builds and exhibits aesthetically powerful art to educate a global audience about plastic pollution in the ocean and waterways, give our marine animals a voice and spark positive change in consumer habits.
Norfolk Botanical Gardens debuts the unveiling of a year long, nationwide collaborative project to create Washed Ashore’s newest sculpture, Rosa the Bald Eagle. Rosa is a nine foot tall Bald Eagle with a 15 foot wingspan and weighs approximately 2000 pounds. Rosa was constructed entirely from plastic marine debris sorted and assembled by thousands of volunteers across the United States.
